As it has happened so many times before,it was Danny walking and Buddy doubling to start the game off that led to 2 first inning runs. They were driven on an RBI hit by Carl and a FC by Henry. But Henry wasn't quite done..in the 3rd with 2 outs and a man on...he hit a searing line drive that seemed to stun the outfielder as it shot past him for a 2 run HR! The way Joe has been pitching a 4 run lead seemed like a lot but they scraped a few runs off him to quickly make it 4-3. And thats the way it stayed ,until the bottom of the 6th when after 2 errors Carl followed with an RBI double..then sac flys by Steve and Brandon added 2 more insurance runs. Joe finished the job only allowing 1 hit after the 3rd inning,bringing us one game from winning the championship.

So we wanted to jump out quickly in the top of the first to put pressure on them in the clinching game...well...after 3 walks to Danny, Carl and Henry...Eddie, who has come up big all series, did it again and hit a gapper for a 3 RBI triple! 2 errors and RBI hits by Chris and Danny made it an 8 run first inning...I would say that did the trick. Joe kept them in check aided by 2 double plays and outstanding defensive plays by Henry, Buddy and Brandon. In the 6th we loaded the bases and Brandon drove a run with a hit. If we scored one more run we win the game but that was unknown to EL Capi tan Marty as he pinch hit. The first pitch was driven to left for a walk off mercy championshiop winning hit !! A fitting way to end this terrific run of great softall. Joe was brilliant again , earning the leagues playoff MVP with his 6th win as 90 Proof wins its 12th CHAMPIONSHIP!!!
I want to thank everyone for their terrific efforts this season. This was a full team effort and it was a lot of fun managing the this group. Champions all! Happy Holidays.
